Dedicated to Aunt Ami

Lidia and I dedicate this post to Aunt Ami. She pointed out to me that I hadn't updated the blog in a week and she wasn't getting her "Lidia fill." So here you go sister! We haven't been up to much lately. I was able to enjoy this Saturday in Kansas City to watch a friend get married. It was a lot of fun to see old friends from high school and get out of Iowa for the day! Lidia got to spend the time I was away with her dad, and she told me she had a lot of fun! They had a relaxing weekend at home and spent some quality time together, which I loved to hear about! I loved getting home to her even more and didn't spend a second away from her the next two days. Three hours is much too far away for a new mama to be away from her sweet baby! This week is not full of much excitement. Lidia and I are just anticipating the arrival of Aunt Allison, Uncle Mike, and Alexa from Wisconsin for the weekend. We can't wait to spend time with them! (Oh and to watch the Hawkeyes continue to be undefeated on Saturday!) Go Hawks!!

Obsessed?? Wouldn't you be?!

Lidia is Aunt Chloe's biggest fan and good luck charm! This was Lidia's second soccer game and Chloe once again did great! Her team won 3-1 and Lidia had a great time in the beautiful weather at the game, showed off her rolling over skills to Uncle Mark, and hung out in her sling as we walked over to see some church friends play softball after Chloe's soccer game.

Mommy's second week back to work was a little easier than the first. It didn't help that I stayed home with a sick baby on Tuesday so it made for a short week. Lidia has been fighting a cold for several weeks and is now just getting better. I use the excuse that Lidia is sick to go see her each day on my lunch break at work (Grandma Debbie says I'm obsessed, but wouldn't you be?!) and Alaina and I decided one day at lunch to try out the Bumbo on Lidia. Adorable!!
She did really well in the Bumbo. She held her head up great and she will be sitting up in no time!
Lidia had her second month check-up today. She weighed 12lbs. 4 oz and was 23 1/4 inches long. I took her to the doctor a few weeks ago when she first got sick, and she weighed exactly one pound less. Obviously her cold didn't stop her from eating! She had her first round of shots today with three in the legs and one shot orally. She did really well!!! I think she did better than I did! She cried for a few minutes, went right to sleep, and hasn't seemed to be affected by them at all today. What a good baby!

Iowa/Iowa State Weekend!!!

Great first weekend home after being back to my first week at work! We celebrated Lidia's 2nd month birthday on Friday!!! We also remembered those who lost their lives 8 years ago on 9/11 and thanked the soldiers that fought and are still fighting for our country because of it. Lidia's dad is one of the many men that went overseas for our country. Lidia especially wants to give a big thanks to him for that. We had a very low-key weekend and loved every minute of it! Friday night we had a great dinner at Taki and Lidia was able to meet Jesi and Alyx for the first time! Saturday was a great day for the Iowa Hawkeyes!!! We loved watching them destroy Iowa State! Grandma Debbie wasn't too happy about it since she made a bet with me that Iowa State would win. Needless to say she had to take us to lunch on Sunday! Since Lidia had such an exciting day on Saturday full of laying around all day and watching football, she decided to sleep all through the night for the first time!!!! I layed her down around 9pm and she didn't wake back up until 5am on Sunday! I'm so proud of her! On Sunday we were able to go to Chloe's last soccer game of her weekend tournament. It was a great day outside and a great day to see Aunt Chloe score the only goal for her team!!! Did I mention that she is a defender?? She has a great kick and we are very proud of her and love watching her play!! Lidia is always making new friends wherever she goes. One little girl has already told her that she wants her to be in her wedding when she grows up (she was 7) and a family friend's little girl, Lani, told Lidia at the soccer game that she was never a baby and has always been a big girl, kept telling her she was very nice and the prettiest baby ever, and she showed Lidia how to skip! Lidia definitely took some pointers! Now Lidia and I are just enjoying our Monday together waiting for another work week to start...

This was minutes before Lidia slept through the night for the first time!!
GO HAWKS!!!! Representing the Hawks!!! Don't let Grandma Debbie fool you that she's a Cyclone fan, she bought this adorable outfit for the princess!!!
Photo Shoot before mommy went to work on Friday... I love my mornings with the baby!
I had to capture her "pooping" face for all to see! She's still adorable!
Happy 2 months Lidia! Your families loves you so much!!!

She has to be the most talkative, alert, and happy baby I have ever seen! Just part of the reason I love her so much!

Mommy goes back to work

Showing off how she rolls over!!!
She loves playing on her play mats!!!
Ava, London, and Lidia watching their first Hawkeye game!!
After an amazing summer and eight weeks at home, mommy had to go back to the real world on Tuesday. What a change it is being away from Lidia all day! I can't wait to get home each night just to see her and talk to her! I still have every Monday off and she gets to play with Grandma Debbie every Wednesday afternoon, but otherwise Alaina is watching her during the day. I think she will really like it there! She is very alert and Alaina has three kids of her own that will definitely entertain her! Lidia had her first cold last week and is still recovering from it this week. I can tell she is miserable at times but always keeps a smile on that beautiful face of hers! Our summer went by too fast! Lidia was able to go to two weddings, the Iowa State Fair, lots of play dates with her future husband London, watch her first Iowa Hawkeye game (GO HAWKS!!), ROLL OVER, and spend a lot of time with family and friends. She will be two months old on Friday! Where has the time gone???
