And the winner of the ugliest pajamas goes to.....

LIDIA!!! I'm pretty sure these pj's were found on one of my old baby dolls at my parents house. On the subject of pajamas, since pj's has to do with sleeping (usually) I thought I would let everyone know that Lidia has decided this weekend that she doesn't like naps anymore. Don't get me wrong, she's still tired and tries to fall asleep but once her head hits that mattress her eyes pop open, she looks up at me and starts squealing! Its hard to get mad at the most nosey baby in the world that just doesn't want to miss a thing!

Thanksgiving weekend was a success! It was full of food, family, and fun! Grams taught Lidia "So big!" and now her hands are always up in the air as you can see in the picture below. She also found her feet for the first time so if her hands aren't up in the air for "so big" or in her mouth, they are usually grabbing her feet. Sorry Lidia, I think you got a combination of your momma and daddy's feet... and that's not a good thing!

The 'big people' weren't the only ones that got to enjoy Thanksgiving food. Lidia also got her first taste of solid foods this weekend. I thought it was the appropriate time to try some green beans and pears baby food on Thanksgiving and she hated it! I had to switch back to the rice cereal and sneak a little in the cereal so she could get used to the taste. Don't think Grandpa let Lidia get away without trying some 'big people' food though. Lidia had tastes of pumpkin pie, gravy, potatoes, and more! Spoiled? Yes!

Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Lidia slept through the night! We had family stopping through town from Kansas last night and we went to a late dinner with everyone. We didn't get home until about 9pm so of course Lidia was off her normal sleep schedule. I hurried and got her ready for bed but by the time she was settled down and asleep it was about 9:30. She then slept all through the night until 6:00am! She got up, took a bottle, and slept for another hour before she was up for the day at about 7am! What a great baby! Maybe I need to get her off her sleep schedule more often :)

Anyway, I wanted to share about Lidia's big news today! Have a great day!

... figured out what's been wrong with my baby! After 4 months of taking Lidia to one pediatrician and that doctor continually saying nothing was wrong, I decided to get a second opinion and I'm definitely glad I did!! I stayed home with Lidia on Friday because she had been very grumpy and I knew she was sick so I took her to a different doctor on Friday. This is the doctor that Alaina (Lidia's babysitter) takes all her kids to. Turns out, the reason for Lidia's frequent colds, congestion, and raspy sounds in her throat is because she has reflux. This is not a huge deal, it just has to do with the way she digests her food, the way she is fed, and how much she is eating. So the doctor told me to put her on a different formula, make sure she is always propped; whether eating or just playing, and make sure her crib is propped to help the reflux dissapear. I also found out that she has an ear infection so she was put on Amoxicillin for that and she is DEFINITELY teething as well. The doctor I took her to 4 days earlier said that she was not teething and that she did not have an ear infection. So my suggestion to all you mommies out there, only you know your baby and it's always good to get a second opinion to help your little peanut feel better!!

Weekend update: On Friday I stayed home from work, like I said earlier, to take Lidia to the doctor. It was pay day (yay!!) so Lidia and I decided to venture to the mall after the appointment to get mommy some new pants for work. WELL as most of you can guess, I ended up with no pants for me and more stuff for Lidia! That night G'ma Schneiter stopped by for a bit to bring Lidia some new toys and to say hi but other than that it was an early movie night for both us. Saturday was an AMAZING mommy day. Lidia spent the day with her father in Winterset with family and friends and mommy and G'ma went and got hot stone massages courtesy of Matt! They were amazing and I spent the afternoon on the couch with the best nap of my life since Lidia was born! On Sunday and Monday, Lidia and I spent most of the day around the house just being lazy and trying to get her to feel better. Grams came in from Tennesee so we spent both Sunday and Monday evening over at my parents house and had a great time!

An update to all of you that knew I was starting a new sleep schedule with Lidia... she's doing pretty well!! It's hard because her teeth are bothering her and she's not feeling well with the ear infection but for the most part she's doing great. I got her into a regular bedtime pattern of feeding her rice cereal between 6 and 7pm. Then I give her a bath between 8 and 8:30pm, feed her a bottle, then I put her to bed awake by 9pm and let her fall asleep on her own instead of in my arms. I turn on a CD player that hangs on her crib with a little light on it and she is usually asleep within 10-20 minutes. Sometimes she cries and sometimes she laughs and talks herself to sleep! Her newest trick however (she's so smart!) is to roll over on her back so I have to come in and roll her back over. I'm pretty sure she just wants to hear me say, "I love you precious" one more time! Other than that, she's usually sleeping from 9pm - 3am, takes a bottle, then falls right back to sleep until about 6:00 or 6:30am. Lidia getting more sleep = a happier baby and a happier momma!

One last thing, Lidia and I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! Thursday will be here in a few days and we wish safe travels to everyone that is headed out of town for the holiday. We will be staying in town enjoying the holiday with Grams who is in town from Tennesee. So... don't eat too much and make sure to relax with your friends and family and enjoy the time together! We love you all!

(Happy Birthday Aunt Jo! We can't wait to see you and your family tonight!)

Just missing my peanut...

~Happy Wednesday!!~
Just sitting here on my break at work and missing my little girl so I thought I'd share some pictures of her that I have on my phone. Some of these are old and some are new but I hope you will enjoy all of them!!! Love, Britt

The above picture was taken of Lidia at 19 weeks. This is the day we found out we were having a little baby girl! We were waiting in the doctor's office after the ultrasound and that is when we decided on the name Lidia. I give all recognition to her dad for picking out the name. He did a great job! The below picture was taken on July 8, 2009. This was just three days before the princess was born.

This was G'ma and G'pa Schneiter's idea of fun. While mommy was turned around, G'pa put his ugly cyclone hat on Lidia. She even looks cute in Red and Gold but she told me she prefers the black and gold!

Wrestle-mania night with Aunt Chloe! Aunt Chloe can get Lidia to laugh and smile any time she looks at her! I like to tell Chloe it's because her face is so funny! I'm joking of course but I really think that Lidia loves how much Chloe loves her. This all started back when she was still in my belly. Aunt Chloe was the first one to feel Lidia kick besides me! Afterwards, I would try and have my other family members feel it but she wouldn't do it for anyone besides Chloe until later of course when she had no more room!

HAHAHA! This is my all-time favorite picture of Lidia! She is doing nothing other than going to her first business meeting! What else would a 3 month old do during the day??

Here is Lidia hanging out with the girls on our usual Wednesday night's at Paglia's pizza. Lacie and Steph always tell me how obsessed they are with her. Can you blame them?!? The picture below is of Lidia and her cousin Zoey. Zoey is in 2nd grade and loves to hold and play with Lidia any chance she can get. I can tell they will be very close growing up!

4 month check-up

We went to Lidia's four month check-up today. Dr. Beetler says she's a growing, happy baby! She definitely proved that at the appointment! Lidia had to get shots again; one that is like a medicine taken orally, and two shots in her left leg. She took the oral shot down like it was candy and she cried for 5 seconds after the two in the leg, but then started laughing! I love her!! The shots hardly fazed her but she immediately fell asleep on the car ride home and has been laying on momma ever since. The doctor gave some good pointers on how to get her back on a good sleep routine since the teething started, so we're going to give that a shot tonight. Looks like no more mommy/baby cuddle time before bed!

I put Lidia in the Jumperoo for the first time and she had a ball! She can't really make herself jump up and down yet but she loves when I swing her back and forth! She laughs the whole time!
Our weekend wasn't filled with much excitement. We stayed home Friday night, made a yummy dinner, watched a movie, and Lidi got to play with her best friend that she hadn't seen in two weeks. For those of you that didn't know, Lidia and I are now living in Urbandale and on Saturday we were able to get more stuff moved into our new place before watching the Iowa game. We then of course watched the Iowa game and loved every minute of it. Even though we didn't win, it was still an amazing game and we are still proud of our Hawks!! Sunday we got up and went to church. Lidia fell asleep through the first part and then woke up in time to start telling stories during Pastor Weaver's sermon! She started squealing and laughing and Ami, Alaina, and I couldn't help but laugh also! She later told me she was just saying, "Amen!' to everything Pastor Weaver was saying and she did not appreciate our "sssshshing!"

Happy 4 months Lidia!

4 months ago, at this exact time, I was sitting in my hospital bed watching my friends and family play Uno. I know you're thinking you let what happen in your delivery room?? But six hours later a miracle happened...Lidia was born!! There were many things that people told me before she was born that I thought I understood, but really I had no clue how true they were. For example people said; Get as much sleep as you can because you won't sleep for the next 18 years! (sooo true) I also heard that there is nothing better than motherhood and your life changes completely but for the better! All of these things I couldn't completely understand until I actually started to go through them but there is one comment that people continuously said that I felt at the exact moment she was born. That was unconditional love. I never thought I could love anyone or want to take care of anyone as much as I do with Lidia. Loving Lidia made me love and appreciate the important people in my life more also. I want to thank Lidia today on her 4 month birthday for making me the best person I can be, for making me laugh and smile everyday, for looking for me when I leave the room, for making my family complete, for being independent yet sweet and cuddly, for never ever being off my mind, thank you for being you. I love you so much and every day gets better and better!!!

Great quote:
"Isn't it crazy how you can sit at work all day and miss your children like crazy? Isn't it crazy how you can't wait to get off work just to see them, but an hour after you get home you can't wait until it's their bedtime? Isn't it crazy how when you wake up in the morning and if your children are still in bed you want to wake them up just to kiss them? Isn't it crazy that when they wake you up instead you wish they were back in bed? Isn't it crazy how much you would give up just to make their life better? Isn't it crazy how much you love them??

We are so proud of you Chloe!!!

Aunt Chloe had her last soccer game of this season at a tournament in Kansas City. Lidia and I were not able to make it, but believe me we had updates every time after they played! Chloe is on a competitive soccer team and this is her first year playing at the premier level ,which is the best level for her age group. They split the girls into two teams for the tournaments; and A team and a B team. Chloe made the A team for this tournament and her team won first place!! Congratulations Chloe! Did I mention she scored a goal in the third game and she's a defender?? Aunt Chloe rocks!! While G'ma, G'pa, and Chloe were out of town, Lidia and mommy stayed Friday night at their house with Aunt Ami while she watched the dogs. We had a nice relaxing night at home while watching movies, eating popcorn and M&M's of course, and playing with the baby!

I grew up going to church every Sunday and I want Lidia to be raised that way as well. I feel like a terrible mother because this was the first Sunday that I've taken her to church but we had a blast!! Aunt Ami sang a solo, we were able to watch church friends get baptized, and catch up with people I grew up with that I haven't seen in quite awhile! Lidia loved worship (not sure she loved her momma's singing) but she loved the loud music and watching all of the people around her. Towards the end, she got worn out and took a short nap, but before that I was able to get some cute pictures in her pretty dress!!
