Have you heard about the AMAZING sale at Children's Place? Almost everything in that store is $2.99...It's awesome! The clothes on sale are so cute and so hard to choose from. I went with my mom last night and spent almost an hour in there trying to pick out what I was going to buy. I ended up coming away with about 5 or 6 outfits, socks, and leggings, and only spending $30 buckaroos! Check it out! I think it lasts through this weekend. Below is a picture of Lidia helping me getting ready this morning in one of her new outfits. An adorable shirt with some cute leggings... Can't go wrong there!

Brusha Brusha Brush! G'ma Debbie works in a dentist office so I figured she should start early with that one tooth of hers... OR it keeps her occupied while I get ready...
Wanna brush your teeth now Mom?!
Sophie the Giraffe! This toy is a must have for teething babies FYI.She looks like a child that is deprived of toys doesn't she???!

Best Friends

One of Lidia's new best friends is her teeth. Can you see it?? One is completely through and the other one right next to it will be popping through anyday now. Her teeth don't seem to be bothering her much. She likes to feel them with her tongue and lick her lips a lot and make wierd noises so I think she's getting used to them!
Another best friend is her mommy! Well this is nothing new but she seems to be enjoying life a little more these days since she's feeling better. This means that mommy enjoys her baby more and we can't get enough of each other! Oh, how I've missed my happy, smiley, independent baby! But wait... Did I just jinx myself??? Dang it.
She has always loved bath time (except when her ears hurt) but this weekend she got to share one of her favorite times of the day with her best friend Bella! They had fun playing with toys and splashing water and getting clean!

Jack and Lidia are best friends too. What is that you see? Lidia sharing her pears with Jack?? Yes, it is so. Jack always tries to give Lidia kisses so when I decided I couldn't take my eyes off the Vikings/Saints game, (Go Saints!) I decided to feed Lidia her dinner on the floor for the first time. Bad mommy. Well we were over at G'ma and G'pa's house watching the games and she gets whatever she wants at their house anyway, so I thought it was acceptable! Well this is what happens when I try something new!
And this is just a random picture of me wrapping Lidi's head in a blanket because we were bored! She's so sweet to let me do this to her, isn't she?!

Mommy vs. Lidi

Lidia...

... Mommy

... So there you have it to all of you that said she doesn't look like me!!!

Now I feel bad...

Did you notice a little complaining in my last post?? Well I was and now I feel horrible! Peanut has been fussy, clingy, and not sleeping for plenty of good reasons. One, being the teething and another being ANOTHER EAR INFECTION!! That's right folks, count it... 1, 2, 3 ear infections under 6 months old. Poor baby! I'm a terrible mamma and didn't want to take her to the doctor for what seemed like the billionth time, but I gave into G'ma Debbie and away to the doctor she went again. Only to find out that she in fact has another ear infection. Always listen to your momma! Even you, Lidia! So, if this antibiotic doesn't help by Friday, the doctor wants me to bring her back in and talk about making an appointment for an ear specialist. Which means, tubes. So say a little prayer for Lidia and myself as we get through these next couple days of torture, and hopefully we can get her to feeling better!

It's official! We have a toooooth! Ugh...

Definition of teething: The eruption and cutting of teeth.

MY definition of teething: The eruption of a monster baby!!!
The cutting sounds of horrible pain in the middle of the night!!! Am I overexaggerating?? Nooo...
Don't let that cute face fool you! She's definitely not taking to the teething well. Our (yes, mine and her) "sleep schedule" is no longer. She wakes up every 2-3 hours and the crying is so sad! Her cries are cries of pain and I feel so bad for her! But it will be worth it once she has that pretty little smile full of pretty little pearly whites!
On a better note, we have an active baby! She is trying sooo hard to crawl. She will scoot around in a full circle to get whatever toy she wants. She also gets on her hands and knees and pushes her way towards something. It will be very soon and I can't wait! I think she will be a much happier and content baby when she can be mobile.

What is that you see? Baby tylenol in her hand? Don't judge! She loves the feel of the cap on her teeth and it keeps her occupied for... oh... 2 minutes. Then on to the next activity to keep her happy! Don't get me wrong, we usually have a very happy, healthy baby but she is going through a stage where it is hard to keep her content for long. This probably has to do with the teeth but I was also googling (yeah I'm THAT girl) if this is what all 6 months old go through, and it seems like she may be going through some sort of seperation anxiety. I love the fact that my little princess love Love LOVES her momma but it gets to be a little much when she cries every time I leave the room! I know I will look back on this time when she is sixteen, actually more like eleven, and wish she felt the same way so I will definitley enjoy it while it lasts! I'm not just saying this to boost my own ego, really I'm not! She does this with her babysitter and other family members. Maybe it should be called ATTENTION ANXIETY. A baby not getting enough attention???? Lidia??? Yeah right...

Baby mohawk! Yeah... She still has barely any hair!
Taking a break from scooting... It wears a baby out!

The day she came into our world!

Not even an hour old... 7/11/09
Not even one week old!
... and now she is 6 months old!!!
On her half birthday, I figured this is the perfect time to share Lidia's birth story...

Friday night, July 10th, I went to my friend Katie's bachelorette party. She was getting married in August and I was a bridesmaid, so I wanted to make an appearance. Once everyone decided to hit the town for the night, I decided to take my 9 month pregnant booty home to rest. I got home around 8pm and laid on the couch watching tv with Ro. I was having some contractions, (I had braxton hicks contractions since week 30 so this was nothing new for me) but something was a little off. Ro kept looking at me and we exchanged glances like, "Are you ok? Is this it?" But I went downstairs to read to keep my mind off them.

The contractions grew closer and stronger, but I had thought I was in labor a few nights earlier so I figured this was the same thing. Around 11pm, I actually fell asleep. Two hours later at exactly 1:10am, I woke up to contractions 10 minutes apart. I started timing them in bed; 1:20am, 1:30am, etc. etc. So I got up, walked around, and made sure everything in my bag was packed. I finally walked upstairs at around 4am to wake up my mom. I shook her arm (crying) and said, "Mom, will you lay with me?" She JUMPED out of bed, grabbed her phone to time the contractions, and by this time they were about 4-5 min apart. I called Lidia's dad to come over and the three of us headed to the hospital around 6am.

When I got to the hospital, they checked my cervix and I was still only dialted to one. So the three of us walked the hallways for awhile. The walking helped because the next time she checked me I was dilated to 3cm. At that time, the doctor came into the triage room, broke my water, and decided to give me my own room. We got into my hospital room around 10:30 or 11am and that's when we started making the calls that I was in labor.

I got the epidural almost immediately when I got into my hospital room and that made everything smoother. I also had to get some pitocin to speed up my labor. Friends and family started showing up, playing Uno, and making the time pass. At one point, I started to feel the contractions again and had to get another round of the epidural and that one made my legs and behind go completely numb. I was dilating about 1 cm an hour and at the time my legs went numb, I dilated from a 6 to 9cm in one hour. The nurse said, "We're going to have a baby in the next hour!!!" And I started bawling! Everyone was kicked out of the room except my mom, Colt, his mom, and the nurse and they started to calm me down. I was thinking to myself, "I'm going to be a mom in an hour! Keep her in there!" But by the time I was dilated to 10cm, the numbness was wearing off, and I was ready to start pushing, I calmed down enough for my "labor buddies" to come back in and watch/help a miracle happen.

I started pushing and felt EVERYTHING. I seriously did not think I was going to be able to do it! I was shaking uncontrollably, breathing very fast and heavy, and had to have an oxygen mask on because Lidia's heartrate was going down. I pushed for about an hour, I believe, and at 6:46pm on July 11, 2009 (5 days before my due date on July 16th) Lidia came into the world! (tears... kleenex please!) We did not have to use the vaccumm or forceps, she came out on her own! I had mild tearing and had to have 2-3 stitches but other than that, it was a great labor... considering my little episodes throughout it, but she's here isn't she?!

I owe a big thanks to everyone that made that day and weekend so special for all of us! I want to thank my mom, Ami, Lindsey, Lacie, Alaina, Deb, and Colt for dealing with my, "SHUT UP!" and "I CAN'T DO THIS!!" and my "Someone get my camera and take a picture! (contractions is over) No, not of that! Of the baby when she is born!" while I was in labor and helping every step of the way! I want to thank everyone that came to visit us in the hospital. Especially my dad and my grandparents for driving so far to spend just a few hours with us! It meant the world to us. And I want to thank Lidia for being so amazing. Happy 6 month birthday Lidia! Momma loves you!

Halfway to one...

Happy 1/2 birthday Lidia! Princess turned 6 months yesterday and I was fortunate enough for it to land on a Monday, so I got to spend the entire day with her! The day started off great, with lots of lovins and kisses and happiness, and then the 6 month dr. check-up happened... She had to get 2 shots. Usually the shots don't affect her but yesterday they sure did and the poor baby was clingy and fussy the rest of the day. On a better note, here's the stats for Lidia at 6 months:

Height: 27" (95th PERCENTILE!!!)
Weight: 17.11 (75th percentile)
Diapers Size: 3
Clothes Size: 6-9 Months
Sleeping: 8pm-5 or 6am with one feeding in between
Eating: 5-6 oz. every 3-4 hours and baby food twice a day
Favorite Toys: Sophie the Giraffe
Favorite Thing To Do: She loves when I blow dry my hair and blow it in her face!
Latest Milestones: Starting to scoot across the floor
Babbling: She isn't talking as much... strange
Looking Forward to: Crawling... or am I????!

What is Lidia thinking?

"Brrrrr! But at least I'm cuddling with my best friend, (besides my momma) Aunt Chloe!"
"Stop taking nakey pictures of my chunky booty! But I sure love bathtime!"
"Does Auntie Lindsey really have to take these pictures of me to send to my momma at work?? She just saw me an hour ago! She can't miss me already! Silly momma!""What am I wearing? A blanket for pj's? I can't move in this and it's not fashionable! GET IT OFF ME!!!!"
"I love Ohana's too momma! I'll have the steak and chicken please! Ginger sauce on the side, of course!"
"Fine! Cheater chopsticks will do... Selfish..."
"I'm a big girl now! I can entertain myself while mommy eats! For about 5 min..."

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010!

Nice picture eh?! I thought I'd share my adventures of falling with everyone! It seems that in the past few months I've taken after my older sister (sorry to call you out) and become accident prone. I've fallen on the ice I can't count how many times. I've fallen down the stairs at work. (That one should have been caught on camera and sent into America's Funniest Home Videos) I have fallen down several other stairs with the latest being at my parents house WHILE HOLDING LIDIA. I was "hero of the day" by breaking her fall, she didn't cry or even fazed by it but I basically broke my tailbone trying to keep her safe. My latest adventure was yesterday, falling THROUGH a chair while cleaning a ceiling fan, falling on my tailbone again and cutting up my leg... see picture above. Happy New Year to me!
Some people would argue that giving a french fry to a baby would constitute being a bad grandma and some would argue that she is the best grandma in the world... What do you think?!
I think it just makes for a funny picture considering it never went anywhere near her mouth! Soon enough child, soon enough!Well I am definitely looking forward to a great new year! 2009 marked the best year of my life thus far considering an angel came into my life and made me the happiest person in the world! I know this year will be just as great, if not better, with more milestones to come! I loved looking back on the first half of my year vs. the second half. It was a completely different life and one I would never go back to. We spent our New Year's just the way it should have been spent... together! We spent the day with family, watched the Cyclone bowl game, and then I was able to sneak away for dinner with friends for a few hours. This marks the second year in a row that I didn't see midnight on New Year's Eve and I think that may become a good tradition! Again, Happy New Year's to all and I hope this year is great for everybody!

Bella came to spend the weekend with us and as you can see the two girls LOVED each other. Bella was a great helper with Lidia by always sharing toys, giving her a bottle or pacifier (even if she didn't need it) and just playing with her! It was so cute and I loved seeing the two spend time together. The photo shoot below is of Lidia in her first and only cyclone outfit. I figured it was okay to put her in considering we need to support the state of Iowa when anyone goes to a bowl game. Plus, her G'pa loved it! I had to get plenty of pictures because you will never see her in an outfit like this again! (But she looked pretty darn cute didn't she?!) By the way, GO HAWKS! We WILL dominate tonight!

My little stinker! Every single time I change her diaper this is how I found her now! Feet in the air or in her mouth and her body flailing from side to side... makes for a very difficult time for
anybody that attempts to change her!
