Very Random {but cutesy pictures!}

Yesterday we were able to play outside! This is the second time this year that we've been able to get the girls out of the house and enjoy the fresh air! We played with Lidia's car, went down the slide, and played on the swings! I thought being outside (her favorite thing to do) would cheer Lidia up, but she went from hero to zero in minutes....

I also noticed that Carly had some weird white spots/sores on her tongue. Turns out those sores are on the top of her mouth and on the inside of her lips as well. Being the google queen that I am, looks like Sis has Thrush. Poor girls... they just can't get a break! She was still a little cranky yesterday but all smiles and still so sweet!

And just some more random pics! My camera is still broken so these are all handy dandy phone pics but they do the job wouldn't you say? The first two are of Lidia eating a cupcake for my birthday a few weekends ago, and another of her just being silly in the car!

Hello blurry...but I had to show off the picture of her in the hospital gown minutes before her surgery.She looks so big! Speaking of looking big... She looked like a little person today in her cute outfit and her hair in a pony tail! Also, when I walked out of the door for work this morning, there wasn't a single tear from her! That never happens! She waved and said, "Bye!" and walked away... Is it sad that I was just a little sad that she wasn't sad??? (who says "sad" that much in one sentence?!)

Where do I even begin??

  

See that picture there on the right? Yeah, that one. The one with the sick toddler with bed head, a paci that never leaves her mouth, and her three "maymee's" (blankies) that never leave her side? Yeah...that picure. Describes our week in a nutshell... But I'll elaborate. I had a whole long post written out describing every detail of this past 1 1/2 weeks but honestly? It was boring, I'm tired of re-living telling it. So I'll give you an overview... kapeesh?!

Alrighty, so ever since Lidia's surgery, she had been running a fever. Altogether, she ran a fever for almost 9-10 days. After a few run arounds from different doctors, a failed trip to the hospital (the ER was too busy?), a fever of almost 106, a white blood cell count reaching 22 (normal is 5-10), three rounds of shots of the antibiotic Roseffen (sp?), x-rays, a cathetar to check for a UTI, tons of finger pricks, nose swabs, mouth swabs, 3/4 of our 2 weeks spent in a doctor's office, all tests coming back negative, no sleep, and a very clingy little girl... we still have no answers.

Yeah, I said that right. The white blood cell count being so high shows an infection somewhere in her body but they never determined where. The chest x-ray showed that she had a MILD case of viral pneumonia. With the pneumonia being mild and the white blood cell count being extremely high, that meant that the infection was somewhere else and they never determined where. The pneumonia was probably caused from the surgery/anesthetic, because she had no other symptoms of pneumonia. So, I'm still very worried. I hate that I don't know what is/was wrong with her. So I guess it's just the waiting game. Today, she has no fever, so hopefully things are looking up and will get back to normal soon!

Oh, and I didn't forget about Lil Sis. She's a crazy one too. She had an ear infection last week, getting two teeth in, refusing to sleep, running a fever, and plain CRABBY. But, she started crawling... well basically scooting across the floor last week! I'm so proud of her!

Life with two under two is hard enough but when they are sick, life is pretty terrible. Carly decided to cry from 5pm -11:30pm last night. After everything that has been going on... that was the icing on the cake and I had a breakdown last night from dealing with all of this. My kids are what I live for, but sometimes it's too much. Today is better. I'm an obsessive momma (can't you tell?!) and check on my babes way too much throughout the day when I go to work, but today I decided to give myself a little break from knowing what they are doing 24/7, worrying about if they are being too much for my mom, etc. So I've only checked on them once and it has felt good. Hopefully, I will go home refreshed and ready to have some quality play time with the kiddos, and maybe some nice alone time with the hubby after if they go to bed nicely.

B-day/V-day Weekend!

Our weekend started out on Friday morning at 5am... blehhh. Lidia had her surgery early that morning and it went great... for the first day at least! She came home and was acting her normal self, dancing around, and didn't even take a nap until her normal time even after the anesthetic! The rest of Friday was spent at home, making sure she was ok, and ending the night cuddled up on the couch with a movie. Then, we woke up Saturday and it was my birthday! We played around the house most of the morning, made a fort in the living room, and a landing strip to have Lidia "fly into" (see pic of her with the dog? Lid just landed on blankets and pillows from Matt "flying her!") When naptime rolled around, we headed to my mom's so the girls could nap, and my love and I could go to the movie, No Strings Attached. We went back to my parents for dinner, cupcakes, and presents, then ended the night at our house with friends and a little Wii action! So Friday and Saturday of this weekend were pretty good but then the surgery started to affect Lidia. She started running a fever, became very fussy, and started having "sick breath." She's still running a fever today, not sleeping well, or eating much, so it hasn't been fun. The doctor says there's not much we can do because she's on an antibiotic and the "sick breath" is the sores in her mouth healing so hopefully this goes away soon! Not only is Lidia sick, but Carly is too! She's FUSSY... and this baby is hardly ever fussy! If I leave the room, fireworks. She's definitely going through some seperation anxiety with me right now, plus she's getting teeth in. I need to get her to the doctor to check for an ear infection too.... So, our house is once again not fun right now! But, we were able to sneak away last night for dinner for Valentine's day! Our romantic plans got a little sidetracked, so we ended up at a bar and grill near our house, played some Silver Strike bowling, ate, and headed home with some ice cream. It was perfect and nice to have two hours to ourselves! I ended my V-day cuddled up with my sickies watching The Bachelor and Gossip Girl... what could be better than that?! Oh yes, I know... saying Adios to Michelle!!! Crazy lady.... glad she's gone! Hope everyone else had a great weekend and a great Valentine's Day!

Thoughts on Thursday!

Sis had hives this morning. I don't know where they came from, but one 1/4 tsp of Benadryl? And gonezo!

Miss is getting tubes in and adenoids out tomorrow. I've been saying I'm not nervous, but I pretty much am.

My house is a mess disaster.

I have wayyy too much laundry to do.

After reading those two, I realized that I either need a maid, OR I need to stop watching my shows at night. Ill go for the maid.

I used my Panera (yum) gift card at lunch today. I went by myself. Ate by myself. And had time just by myself. Glorious.

My birthday (I know, I know it's getting old) is Saturday. I wanna partayyy. Like, throw on an 80's style prom dress, dance to Pat Benatar, and party... like a child... cause I'm cool like that... and it's my birthday!

I've been looking at DIY crafts for awhile now, and still haven't done one. I really want to.

My kids are the cutest and sweetest and funniest. I love them.

(They are from her camera phone, and the one of Sis? Yeah, she needed a bath and she was in Aunt Chloe's disaster room, so it's not the best but it does the job!)

Just having one of those days weeks and thought that bragging talking about some awesome things that I'm loving might cheer me up! So here goes...

I'm loving that the Packers won the Super Bowl!!!

I'm loving that Carly got her first tooth! AND it doesn't seem to be bothering her much!

I'm loving that Lidia is getting her second set of tubes put in and her adenoids (sp?) taken out on Friday. Hopefully this solves the problem for good!
I'm loving that my birthday is on Saturday. I'm actually not that excited for it though. We have no plans, I'm a year older, broke (hence the no plans part), but I'm not pregnant for the first time in two years on my birthday, so that's something, right?!

I'm loving that Lidia has conversations with me. I never thought that talking to my 18 month old would make my entire world, but it does. She's constantly saying new words, phrases, etc. and I just love that part of her age! It's so fun! A few examples of our conversations over the weekend...

I'm loving that at Carly is so close to crawling! I know, right? She's only six month old! But she is scooting a bit, and will get on her knees and rock to reach for toys or her momma! That makes for a proud mama considering she's a non-talker. Seriously, she doesn't babble or anything! But she does laugh all.the.time and squeal, so I'm not too worried about it. At her six-month check-up, the doctor said she was 50 % for height and 75 % for weight. And I quote, "You have a short, chubby, but beautiful baby on your hands!" Hey, she loves her baby food, what can I say?!

My camera is still broken = no pictures. I'm definitely not loving that!

Top 2 Tuesday: Friendship

Top 2 things you've learned about friendship:
1.

~ A friend can tell you things you don't want to tell yourself.

I learned this from my best best best girlfriend in the world. My mom. She's awesome plain and simple. I'll be laying on the couch texting someone and Matt will say,

"It's 9:30pm...Who are you talking to?"

me: "Duh babe... my mom."

him: "Haha you guys are obsessed!"

But it's true. She's who I go to for everything.

(my step-dad is a pretty awesome friend too!)

~ A friend accepts us as we are, yet helps us to be what we should.

I also have my four girls that I couldn't live without. We all have our issues/problems/day-to-day struggles and we are all there for each other through the good and the bad to make us better people. So when two of my best friends were going through their own issues this weekend, I did my best friend duty and was there for them as soon as I could be. It didn't matter that it was 9:30pm, and I had just put the babes to bed, I was there for my girls. (It was nice to get out of the house too... I'm no saint :) I was there to talk and listen and I know they'd be there for me if I needed it too! I've learned a lot from each of my friends, whether it be advice, experience, or just their character in general. Friends truly are special and my life wouldn't be the same without mine...

~ Sometimes you put walls up not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down. 

I learned this from my husband. My ultimate best friend. Before we dated, I was guarded. Oh yeahhh, I was like a guy and didn't let anyone in. He fought for me for YEARS. He cared enough to wait and break down my walls, and that's why he's by my side and my best friend today. Plus, he's super hot.
