Why I'm not blogging as much...

Well currently the main reason is trying to keep my sanity with these crazy donut heads.

Within the last two weeks, these two have been off the charts crazy. The main culprit is Carly. She's off her rocker, no joke. Last week, she was probably in timeout 60% of the day and the other 40% was spent crying about EVERYTHING. She throws full blown fits with screaming at the top of her lungs, hitting, kicking, biting, pinching, throwing things, etc. It's pretty bizarre and so not like Carly. She wants to be carried and held at all times, doesn't listen, and just not a pleasant person to be around at the moment.

We saw this change happen within the last couple weeks and it was right around the time she wasn't feeling well. I took her to the doctor and she had a pretty bad ear infection, plus the doctor says she has severe allergies. So we started her on antibiotics, ear drops, and allergy medicine. ALSO. The doctor thinks she might be constipated so we are watching for that too. (TMI... sorry!) Anyway, it was strange because when she was "sick" she was acting pretty normal but now that she has been on the meds for a week, she's turned into a crazy person! And it's definitely carried over to Lidia too. Lidia cries for silly reasons, whines, doesn't listen, and has recently been doing a few hitting/pinching things here and there too. (Which is NOT like Lidia) So yes, last week was brutal. Like the worst week I can thing of in my mommy history this far. But yesterday was looking up, so I'm hoping that carries out to the rest of the week. Otherwise, I'll sell the girls to the highest bidder :)

(kidding) (kind of)

Anyyyway, besides my children being crazy individuals, we've had a lot of things keeping us from the blogging front too.

*My in-laws are in town from Arizona for awhile this summer, so we've been spending a lot of time with them.

*We have two very important birthdays coming up in a few weeks! Lidia turns 4 and Carly turns 3! We've been back and forth and back and forth on what to do for their birthdays and finally decided on a small party at the lake. We will be doing a joint BBQ, beach, and birthday bash on July 19th and I know it will be a blast!

*Last week we went to Adventureland AGAIN.  We went with our family and it was so fun. Love that place and I love the price on tickets I get from work so we will be there plenty this summer!
*We've had lots of summer parties. Birthdays, gender reveal parties, you name it.

*I'm prepping for a garage sale that hopefully I can do this weekend!
(To sell, or not to sell this Katy P shirt ha!)
*Oh yes, and the girls don't nap anymore so that keeps me away too. It usually makes bedtime easier though :)

Next time I come back, I PROMISE it will be a better update with better pictures from my camera!
I have LOTS to catch up on!

This is what *our* Summer looks like...

This Summer is shaping up to be pretty awesome!
We've already got plenty of Summer activities under our belt and it's only June!
So far we've...

Been to the beach a few times and we've been swimming plenty of times too!
(We will pretty much be living in the water this summer)

When it's hot outside, we cool off with popsicles! (duh)
We went to an Iowa cubs game for Father's Day with Papa and Grandpa!
(and the rest of the family too!)
We went to the Johnston Green Days parade.
It's wedding season! We've been to two weddings so far this summer and the girls are always the center of attention. They are dance floor pros! Except when the bride and groom dance and the girls have to wait? Then things get a little sad. But sure enough, it never fails... the Cupid shuffle and Taylor Swift's trouble comes on and our girls are back in their element! They LOVE weddings.
We've of course had a few playdates/lunches.
The girls are obsessed with their friends. It's so adorable.
One night the girls and I took a walk to the park. And low and behold what do we see to our left while walking? Bailey, our dog. She followed us down the street! Hmmmm. Apparently she wanted in on the fun. So of course we took her with us for some excersize and park action.
Of course we've spent plenty of time outside when it's nice, but it's not always nice out.
It's been raining ALOT which has ruined many of plans.
So when plans are ruined, we got to plan B and hit up the mall play place!
As always, we like to dress up and act sassy.
When Carly gets bored in the car, she does this with my phone...
(I'm STILL laughing about this! There was over 100-200 pictures of just her on my camera roll ha!)
We went to Adventureland a few weekends ago!
It was soooo much fun and we will definitely be going back more this Summer!
(I still need to do a full recap from my camera about our day at Adventureland! Soon, I promise!)
And another thing I need to update on from my camera?
Lidias dance recital!
(and Uncle Dave's wedding!)
But this should hold you over until then...
I just love her so much!

A Letter {Father's Day 2013}

Lidia and Carly,

I wanted to write you both a little letter today, on Father's Day 2013. My hope for this letter is that in 10, 15, or 20 years you can look back and see the type of relationship you had at 2 and 3 years old with your amazing Papa. You will probably never remember these years, (actually Lidia, with your crazy memory you probalby will!) so my hope in this blog is to be able to capture all of these memories in one space for you. All of the fun things we've done, some bad experineces we've had, but most importantly the relationships that our family has and continues to grow. If you are reading this 10 years from now, then you are 13 years old and a crazy teenager that probably dislikes your momma and Papa right now because we wouldn't let you buy that shirt at the mall that you HAD TO HAVE. Or maybe Papa just scared some boy from our front lawn that wanted to take you out for ice cream and he wasn't ready for that just yet. Just remember, your Papa will always think of you both as his babies so ease up on him, k? So you want to know all about your Papa and your relationship with him when you were those babies? Here you go....

*Right now, at 2 and 3 years old you both are in a huge Papa phase.
"Where's Papa?"
"Is Papa at work?"
"When will Papa be home?"
"NO! I WANT PAPA!"
Heartbreaking and heartwarming to a Mama all at the same time.

*Watch your plate! Your papa LOVES to sneak bites of your mac n cheese, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets. Our friends and family know all about his "kid-like" appetite and it's so true. He could eat your "kid food" any day of the week. But he doesn't because we're healthier than that :-)

*He (and I both) sometimes get frustrated when, for example, we go out to eat and you two aren't on your best behavior. Yes, you both currently hate sitting still for more than 10 minutes and those dang claw machines?! Ugh. You are obsessed with them. Now, Papa getting frustrated and telling you to be quiet or sit down isn't a bad thing. Nope. Because he always wants you to be the best you can be. The best behaved. The most well-mannered.  Etc. Etc. And I love that.

*Speaking of dinner, your Papa is the one that insists on family dinners together in the dining room. Why? Because he wants us to spend that time as a family together. Talking about our days, and getting in a good routine. Does it happen every night? Of course not. But when we do sit down at our dining room table, I honestly believe that's his favorite part of his day. Except when one of you acts up and "has to sit on the banister in timeout" but that's neither here nor there :)

*Your Papa loves to read your bedtime stories. Right now, Lidia, you and Papa love to read "Where the Sidewalk Ends." (Right Papa? I think that's the book!) Anyway, your Papa is the best at reading and telling stories. Sometimes he makes up princess stories and you three just laugh and laugh and laugh together.

*Your Papa is hard-working, sensitive, loving and caring, un-selfish, fun and funny. All of these characterisitics carry over to how he treats you two.

*Right now Carly, you and Papa's "thing" is saying that you are his Carlyboo. You take it so seriously and it makes you feel so special. Regardless of what anyone says you say, "Oh yeah?! WELL I'M PAPA'S CARLYBOO!" It's so cute.

*You two would never know this, but your Papa checks on you every night after you go to bed. He goes into each of your rooms and gives you one last kiss and hug before he goes to sleep. Sometimes he lays down and stares at you both and it's the cutest thing in the world to see. (Sorry if that's embarrassing Papa!)

*He loves going to the park, taking walks, playing games, watching movies, building forts, having you help in the yard, playing ball, and swimming with both of you. Your Papa is definitely "the fun one!"

*Your Papa loves you more than anything. And there's nothing more to say than that.

Happy Father's Day Papa!

June 07, 2013

Yo.

Well, I am officially not the only Mrs. Fritz in the family anyomore as of Saturday! We went to Arkansas this weekend and watched Matt's younger brother get married! We had a blast, the girls had the time of their lives, they did great on both 6 hour drives, in the hotel and at the wedding. I will have a full recap with pictures from my camera soon, but for now, here's a sneak peek of our weekend!
Mr. and Mrs. Fritz first dance, the girls taking over the dance floor, and lots of swimming.
Lidia showing off her back float, the cutest flower girls, and the ceremony.
Kiki and Rock!, rehearsal dinner ready, and snuggles in the hotel.

Now this weekend is going to be big too! It's Lidia's dance recital! This week she's had dance pictures, her dress rehearsal, and her recital is on Saturday morning! Tell me she isn't the cutest froggy in the world?!?
Besides weddings and dance recitals, we've been having some flooding here in good ol' Iowa. This is right behind my mom's house. Crazy. But? The girls had the best time playing in the water, of course.
Oh yes, and how could I have almost forgot the most important detail of Lidia's life thus far?!?!.... she got a fish!! She named her Princes Pink fish friend. And then she named her Princess Jasmine fish friend, and now I think her name is something else :) Either way, the girl is obsessed with her fish and does a great job feeding her and "taking care of it"
Other than that, we've been up to a whole lot of this....
Posing. Pretending to be a baby.  Playing the drums.
Shooting guns. Going to church. Dr. check-ups.
Airport pickups. Trying on shoes. Sleep in random places.

I will update next week (hopefully!) with wedding and dance recital pictures!
